Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS)
_ Mechanism of action
Contemporary tDCS protocols typically involve the application of a 1 mA or 2 mA direct current (DC) for up to 20 minutes between two surface electrodes. These may vary in size, but are commonly _35cm2 (5×7 cm). The electrodes are placed on the scalp, one serving as the anode and the other as the cathode. Current flows from the anode to the cathode, some being diverted through the scalp and some moving through the brain.15

Why do so many of the trials concerning tDCS refuse to take into account that males and females process emotions and traumatic events on different sides of the brain (males right and females left). Larry Cahill suggests that studies that refuse to take this into account are most likely seriously flawed.
Wouldn’t this make the placement of the anode and cathode different in men and women?
Do you know if anode is placed on R or L side , would it make a difference?
Not sure, for your purposes. Perhaps you can find a Dr. to advise you or try to find a clinical trail in your area. While most of the literature seems to indicate the likelihood of hurting yourself is quite slim, it’s definitely possible. [Source, See Also]
